Omawumi Megbele popularly known on stage as Omawumi is a Nigerian singer and actress from Delta State, Nigeria. She was born on the 13th of September 1982 to Frank and Aya Megbele.

She completed her primary education at Nana Primary School and did her secondary education at CEDSS – College of Education For Demonstration Secondary School. For her tertiary education, she studied law at the Ambrose Alli University (AAU). Later, she studied French at Alliance Francaise.

Shortly after graduating from the school, she worked in her family law firm – O.S Megbele and Associates law firm which is located in Port Harcourt.
